Week 2024-37

tinyScientist walking outside one of the main city museums

It was a busy week at work, with interviews and investigations. But I work from home, and during lunchtime, we watch an episode of a TV show because that’s when tinyScientist is at kindergarten, and we don’t want him around the television when he’s home.

We’re in sync with Bad Monkey, which means only one episode per week for us, so we used our lunchtime to start watching Slow Horses. Oh my, what a show—it’s great. Why didn’t I start watching it earlier? Anyway, I’m glad we gave it a try!

At night, I played Crypt Custodian. It’s a short Metroidvania game, but packed with surprises, great animations, and music. Most importantly, it’s a cozy Metroidvania, if that’s possible. You play as a cat who has died and was sent outside the Palace/Paradise to work there as a janitor for the rest of time.

I won't start or play any other game on the console before The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Until then, it's Ironsworn: Starforged only.

I decided to delete my two BlueSky accounts. I had a personal account and one for a project, but I was no longer using them. I’m currently using both the new Reeder and Project Tapestry, and they made me realize there was a huge overlap in the content I follow on Micro.blog, BlueSky, and Mastodon. In fact, 100% of the content I was following on BlueSky was also on Micro.blog and Mastodon. So, it was an easy decision to delete the BlueSky accounts.

Every work anniversary, we get two gifts from the company: a piece of clothing or accessory with the company logo on it and a gift card to spend online. I used the gift card to get a new Tomtoc sling, the Wander-T26 X-Pac Daily Sling 5.5L. I have the “small” Explorer-T21 SlingBag and really love it, but this new T26 is a beast! It’s huge and compact at the same time. I carry a lot of toys (as scientist calls my EDC), and with this new bag, I can carry even more. One of the items I can now comfortably carry every day is my Fujifilm.

Speaking of Fujifilm, I took it out today, which was probably the last sunny Sunday of the year, and took almost 100 photos, all JPEG SOOC (Straight Out of Camera).

Last but not least, I found several blogs to follow via Bear's Discovery Feed. The Discovery Feed also offers an RSS feed, which makes it even easier to be exposed to more great content on the platform.
